Cam models: the recording-site problem, explained

If you cam, your shows are being recorded. Bots sit in public rooms capturing everything, and the recordings are posted to cam-rip sites — sometimes before you have even ended the broadcast. This is not a maybe. It is the business model of an entire category of sites.

Three things are worth knowing. First, the recordings are your copyright problem to solve, but they are solvable: your broadcast is your content, and takedown law applies to recordings of it the same as to any video.

Second, the big mainstream tube sites — where recordings do the most damage because fans actually find them — mostly run working takedown processes, and some offer fingerprint programs that block re-uploads of matched videos. The offshore rip sites mostly do not answer anyone, which is why Google removal matters so much for cam models: the recording can exist, but if nobody can find it, it earns the pirates nothing.

Third, speed is the whole game. A recording found and filed against in its first days has barely spread. The same recording found after a year has been copied to a dozen sites. That is an argument for daily watching — human or service — not for panic.

What you can do today: search your cam name plus 'recorded' and 'video' on Google, save every link, and work the free guide routine on this site. What we do on Pro: that search, and hundreds more, every day — including the rip sites built specifically to record you.
